Video
Programs
We’re best known for our award-winning
programs.
We’ve been in the broadcasting business since the early ‘70’s. So we have a wide experience base that started in broadcast journalism and continues today in our own production company. We produce high quality, informational programs for corporations, government agencies, schools and colleges, and social service agencies.
Often clients come to us with no experience in video production or not really knowing how to get their message across. That’s not a problem to us. We start by listening closely and working collaboratively through each step of the production process.
We develop a concept, write the script,
do the taping, create the graphics and/or animation, do the off and on-line
editing, and then do the duplication.

Here are some client comments:
Rob Elder/Director
Kevin Rousseau//Transportation Planning
Analyst
“....Thank you for your outstanding
work in producing our video about Maine’s Freight Transportation System.
We can’t begin to tell you how pleased we are with the finished product.
Throughout the production process both of you demonstrated a commitment
to quality, professionalism, and delivering on time. We are particularly
grateful for all the extra effort you both spent listening to our comments
as the project evolved.”
PROP/People’s Regional Opportunity Program
Sue Bonior/Director of Public Information
“We wanted to let you know how pleased
we are with your efforts in producing the PROP video. To date, reactions
have been very positive....the moist eyes of the viewers tell the story.
Our message is getting across with this one and we could not be more pleased.”

Task Force
David Faulkner/Executive Director
Cindy Krum/Project Coordinator
“I want to let you know how pleased
we are with the video services you provided to produce “In Control”.
The video obviously touches people in the heart, and through this, impacts
behavior. We are convinced that this powerful, engaging video is
a tool to affect individual and community attitudes toward impaired driving.
We are pleased that the Maine Office of Substance Abuse has decided to
send the video to all State Offices of Substance Abuse throughout the country
as well.”
“Your professionalism, commitment to quality, and receptivity to working closely with the Task Force and implementing all concerns into the final product was outstanding.”
Spurwink School
John Rosser/President, Chairman of

We’ve served the legal community’s video production needs since 1986. We do videotaping and editing of depositions; production of day-in-the-life programs and settlement brochures; and tape demonstrations and tours of factories, accident scenes…you name it! We can edit your video deposition for trial and supply you with synchronized video/transcript CDs, too. This is a great trial preparation tool which synchs the video tape with the transcript which we burn to a CD. The synched-CD allows you to search for specific testimony and highlight areas for review. These CDs will play on any computer as the software is also loaded right on the CD.

Attorney Terrence D. Garmey- Smith Elliott Smith & Garmey P.A. says:
“I have worked with videographers around the country. Many are good, but none compare with Smith Atwood. For more than twenty years I have worked with them on a variety of projects, from day-in-the life videos, to a technically complex video deposition in the state's tobacco case. They produce the highest quality product dependably and always when promised. Because they also have vast non-legal film and video experience, they can be counted on for the finest equipment and cutting-edge skills. I would not trust my legal video editing with anyone else.”

We’ve spent many years in the broadcast journalism business, so we know it inside and out. That’s why we offer “training” in this area. We can customize a seminar for the executives of your company who are most likely to face the media. We explain your “rights” when the news media comes knocking on your door. And we offer you on-camera sessions that help you turn what could be a frightening experience into an opportunity.

We do excellent commercial work and PSA’s. We’ve got the awards to show for it, including a Greater Portland Ad Club “Best of Show” for the Maine Seat Belt Coalition. Let’s talk about your next commercial.
Beryl Wolfe, owner of one of southern
Maine’s largest public relations firms, Wolfe Public Relations, says,
“I’ve worked on a variety of projects with Smith Atwood over the years.
The most recent PSA’s we produced with them for Regional Waste Systems
were excellent. It’s a pleasure working with Barry Atwood and Pete
Smith. And the prices are very reasonable always coming in at or
under budget. Feel free to call me directly if you want to ask about
Smith Atwood.”
